Like any purchase there are several things to consider when bying a home, even more so when buying a single family home or condo since a home can be the most expensive purchase you ever make. Comparin condo prices, mortgage rates or CD rates at banks you need to take the time to compare to get the best deal.

With a single family home there are things to consider like upkeep and the cost. With condos you won’t be taking care of the upkeep yourself but you will be paying for the service. These fees, homeowner dues or HOA dus that you must pay on a condo.

Other things you have to consider is property insurance to protect yourself finanally if there is a fire to an earthquake that can damage the home. Insurance is a must if you have a mortgage and own a condo or a single family home.

Other costs to consider when buying a condo are the costs for amenities which can be nice to have but you will pay for these amenities. The condo might have a pool, gym or even sometimes other amenities like a spa.

If you plan to use them then it is a good idea to get a condo with them but they will raise your dues even more. Of course if you don’t really plan on using them you can save money by finding a condo without these amenities.

Another factor to consider is the condo you might want to live in might not allow pets.
